Most often though. "systems" are adapted and hacked at,
than designed anew everytime. In tha past 8 years I've probably had to
write 3/4 large network mgmt apps, but almost everyday, I have to fix
a bug, or write a module etc.

For me, the new products/modules are the cherry, the small victories
the icing and the ready is just baking the cake :)

Re: The Holy Grail and the Programmer’s High

I don't think there is a way to agree more with that statement. The most worthwhile thing about programming is designing an entire process of machine "thought" and then seeing it work flawlessly, usually after a lot of work. Seeing changes NOT break the system is even better.

Re: Fun with an iphone app

Hmmm...

Re: Fun with an iphone app

If this were a Rorschach blot test, it would be utterly clear that I'm thinking about sex.

Re: VC++ Time

Loved to read your blog. For instance India and china are mapping the
unexplored sections of the moon by orbiters instead of trying to land
there.

Re: We Choose the Moon: Launch

I couldn't agree more. Frankly, stuff having to do with the space exploration gives me chills. Maybe someday, we can harness dark matter to fold space (like in Frank Herbert's Dune) and travel wherever, instantly...

I think we already are united in space exploration, at least as far as the International Space Station is concerned. Such cooperation should definitely be expanded to the moon, Mars, and hopefully beyond.

Re: We Choose the Moon: Launch

I knew about the north pole impact mission, but the moon base is soo
cool. In fact, it's so expensive that, with cutbacks on funding, NASA is having to delay plans to get back to the moon. Luckily, we have the LRO and the LCROSS, the first of which is mapping the moon, and the second will send and impact vehicle to test for water at the poles of the moon (I think it will impact the northern pole). Here is an article regarding making a permanent outpost on the moon by 2024. I think we are already off schedule for it: http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2006/12/05/m...

Re: We Choose the Moon: Launch

Where did you hear about a permanent outpost on the moon?! This is a small and traditionally typical ski village in the Alps just above Annecy in Haute Savoie. I actually lived there. Every Friday, the town would ring the church bells and have "vin chaud" free! (masculin, le vin est chaud) Of course, it was to welcome the new wave of vacationers, but they didn't stop anyone living in the town partaking. Wearing traditional alpine garb, they'd ladle it out of these huge caldrons, and have a couple of cows present for ambience. Market day was great too. Why did I ever move?

Re: IPOD touch: Downgrade from 1.1.3 to 1.1.1

:). Personally, I would not use a very strong curry with it, since it would really just overpower the flavour of the fish.

This recipe will work with the more meaty fish, like cod, halibut, etc. I do a lemon based fried tilapia. Will try and upload pictures one of these days.

Re: Tandoori spiced fish with cucumber

Thanks and it was quite yummy.

Re: Tandoori spiced fish with cucumber

im second but i prefer tilapia instead, tasty fish

Re: Tandoori spiced fish with cucumber

first comment.. this looks delicious
